The renowned institution, Cirque Du Soleil, is returning to its circus roots with Corteo. This play definitely stands out from the normal Cirque Du Soleil show with its ringmaster, clowns and performers posing as animals. Daniele Finzi Pasca is directing the show and she has gone all out to make this play unquestionably unique. Corteo tells the story of a clown’s life as he is on his deathbed. Angels drop from above as the clown relives long lost loves all the way to the childhood memory of jumping into bed. The imagery, however, transforms these everyday ideas into something extraordinary. The play features a diagonal high wire and a performer traversing the stage in an unsupported ladder. Corteo is magical, amusing and full of dangerous acts of skill.
