The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the elite teams in the NFL and play in arguably the most competitive division. Even with a solid season at 8-8, the Philadelphia Eagles finished fourth in the NFC East behind the impressive Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. The Eagles began their inconsistent season with two losses against the Green Bay Packers and rival Washington Redskins. Brian Westbrook, the Eagles most important asset, proved his capabilities throughout the season, first making an impression against Washington with 162 yards on 25 touches. He rushed for more than 110 yards per game against the Detroit Lions, New York Jets and Chicago Bears. In his second meeting with the Redskins, Westbrook brought in three touchdowns and 183 yards.

The first win of the season came against the Lions as Donovan McNabb made up for a poor season start and threw four touchdowns for 381 yards. Receiver Kevin Curtis had a notable game as well as he tied the NFL record with 205 receiving yards in the first half. The team’s efforts led to the 35 point win. McNabb’s game the following week was less than impressive as he was sacked by the New York Giants defense 12 times; tying him for an NFL record with four other quarterbacks. His mobility continued to improve throughout the season and he broke Ron Jaworski’s franchise record for completions with 2,089 in the second game against Washington. Just one game later, backup quarterback AJ Feeley came in and beat his former team, the Miami Dolphins. The Eagles almost saw a win against the New England Patriots but Feeley threw an interception into the endzone with seconds to go, giving up their chance to take the lead. This error happened again the following week against the Seattle Seahawks when Westbrook returned a punt for 64 yards setting the Eagles up to win, just to have Feeley throw an interception with 23 seconds on the clock. The team bounced back and won their last two games of the season. McNabb ended the season throwing for more than 3,000 yards, which is the first time since 2004. Head Coach Andy Reid is heading into his 10th year as head coach and knows how to make a championship team. The two-time NFL Coach of the Year plans to take them back to the Super Bowl… and win. Get your tickets now so you can be there in 2008 to see your Philadelphia Eagles soar to victory.
