The Minnesota Vikings pro football team is one of four teams in the Northern Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL). The Vikings joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1961. Throughout the years the Vikings have been in many memorable and exciting games with the help of future hall of fame quarter back Fran Tarkenton. They went on the play in 4 Super Bowls but unfortunately were outdone each time. The Vikings made appearances in the following years: 1970, 1974, 1975 and 1977.
