2007 Recap: The 2007 season looked promising as the AFC West Kansas City Chiefs won four of their first seven games. The team’s bye week in the eighth week of the season became literal as the team said “bye” to any more wins. The Kansas City Chiefs’ success took a turn downhill as they lost nine games in a row finishing the season with a mediocre 4-12 record. The Kansas City Chiefs were led by quarterback Damon Huard who dominated his opponents in passing yards as the season began but only ended the season throwing 62 percent for 2,257 yards. Huard’s go-to-guy, Tony Gonzalez executed notable plays as well throughout the season and finished as the Chiefs’ top receiver snatching the ball 99 times. But the noteworthy substance of the Kansas City Chiefs was their defense. This is the backbone Chiefs’ fans need to keep an eye on for next season. These guys hit hard, play harder, and work hardest to be the top defense in the country. Their effort landed them as the fifth best defense in the National Football League. Huard will continue to lead his team into next season and Arrowhead Stadium will be the place to be for action packed Kansas City Chiefs football. |
