Jaguars Franchise History

1993 the NFL and the city of Jacksonville came to an agreement for a new expansion team. The team would go on to post one of the worst defenses in the league. The offense carried burden. Quarterback Mark Brunell came in as from trade from the Green Bay Packers and helped anchor one of the best offenses in the NFL with receivers Keenan Macardell and Jimmy Smith.  The Jacksonville Jaguars have yet to reach a Super Bowl.

2007 Preview

The Jaguars have come to a crossroads at their quarterback position.  Byron Leftwich will run the offense but backup David Garrard may take the job from him at some point this season.  Skilled position players include wide receivers Matt Jones and Ernest Wilford with Maurice Jones Drew and Fred Taylor handling the running back carries. The defense will be anchored by defensive tackles John Henderson and Marcus Stroud.  The Jaguars will look to capitalize on the potential of their talent.
