Packers Franchise History

The Packers history began in 1919. The Packers are unique in the fact that they are a publicly owned team. They were originally backed by the Indian Packing Co. and were provided uniforms. From 1929 to 1944 the Packers earned six NFL crowns under head coach and team cofounder Earl “Curly” Lambeau.

The Packers of the 1960s were one of the most dominant NFL teams of all time. Coach Vince Lombardi  took over a last-place team and built it into a juggernaut, winning five league championships over a seven-year span that culminated with victories in the first two Super Bowls The Packers have 12 world Championships under their belt and 3 Super Bowl wins, the most recent one being in 1997.

2007 Preview

The Packers will again look to quarterback Brett Farvre to lead them this season.  Favre’s main weapons will again be wide receivers Donald Driver and Greg Jennings, along with tight end Bubba Franks.  Handling running back carries will be rookie Brandon Jackson.  The defense will be anchored by linebacker A J Hawk and cornerback Charles Woodson.  The odds are great that this will be the final season for Favre and the Packers hope to make it a memorable one with a deep playoff run.
