Cleveland Browns Schedule
Cleveland Browns Venue: Cleveland Browns Stadium - Cleveland, OH 2006 Season Recap The Cleveland Browns entered the 2006 season looking to rid their losing ways. Unfortunately, they finished the season 4-12 and will head to the off-season with a lot of question marks. The inconsistent play of the offensive line was part of the problem the team faced all year. Unable to get a sound running game together made it difficult for QB Charlie Frye to make things happen each week. Standout WR Braylon Edwards had a productive season with 884 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Embattled TE Kellen Winslow was also productive with 875 yards but would like to have added more touchdowns to the three he put up. Head Coach Romeo Crennel must address the offensive line problem this off-season as he is entering the third year of his contract. Known for his defensive expertise, he has yet to get the Browns defense on track causing a concern within the organization. Crennel needs to have a solid off-season as word around the league suggests that he will be entering the third year of his contract on the hot seat. History The Cleveland Browns came into the NFL in 1950, even though they had been a member of the All American Football Conference since 1946. To no surprise, the Browns won the championship their first year of existence in the NFL as they had also won four consecutive championships in the All American Football Conference. In 1951, the Browns again were one of the elite teams in the league. However, they would end up losing in the championship rematch against the Los Angeles Rams. |
