The Dallas Chapparals moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1973. The Spurs eventually moved from the ABA to the NBA in 1976. The great years didn’t begin until the Spurs drafted a 7 foot Center by the name of David Robinson in 1987. The drafting of “the admiral” was only the 1st part of a two part puzzle that would eventually land them two NBA titles. In 1997 The Spurs drafted Center/Forward Tim Duncan.
