The Magic have one of the most dominant big men in the league in All-Star and Slam Dunk Champion Dwight Howard. Along with Howard, the Orlando Magic have one of the best outside threats in Hedo Turkoglu. They also picked up veteran Rashard Lewis in the off-season to help add offense and a defensive presence. The magic ended the 2007-2008 season with an impressive 52-30 record, along with the number one spot in the Southeast Division in the Eastern Conference.

“Superman” Dwight Howard was an animal during the regular season, averaging almost 21 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. On top of those stats, the young star hit 60%of all of his shots while leading the NBA in dunks.  Hedo Turkoglu was the second leading scorer on the team, averaging 19.5 points and grabbing almost 6 rebounds a night, while shooting 40%from three point land. Rashard Lewis showed that he was worth his new contract, adding 18 points and 5 rebounds a night, and also shooting just over 40% from behind the arc.

The Magic are a mix of veteran and young players and have one of the best shooting teams in the league with 5 players shooting around 40% from three point range. With the additions of Brian Cook and Maurice Evans, the Magic and new Coach Stan Van Gundy hope to show the world that there’s more to Orlando than just Mickey Mouse and Disney World.
