The New Orleans Hornets are one of the most exciting teams in the NBA. Led by superstar Chris Paul, this young run and gun group is poised to make their mark. Chris Paul is in only his second season and yet he came in second to the Lakers Kobe Bryant in the MVP voting. Along with Paul, the Hornets have forward David West and center Tyson Chandler. They also have an experienced veteran and a great three point shooter in Peja Stojakovic. Chris Paul led the Hornets this season, averaging an amazing double-double of 21 points and nearly 12 assists per game. David West was second in scoring with just over 20 points and nearly 9 rebounds a night. Peja Stojakovic added 16 points per outing while shooting a lights out 44% from three point land. Tyson Chandler averaged a double-double as well, scoring nearly 12 a night while pulling down almost 12 rebounds. Coached by Byron Scott, the team ended the season with a 56-26 record, second in the West and first in the Southwest Division. The Hornets signed free agent Morris Peterson in the off-season and acquired Bonzi Wells in mid-season trade. This team looks to silence the critics who claim they are too young and inexperienced. The fans are some of the best in the league, making each home game feel much like a college experience in the Big Easy. |
