"With the second overall pick of the 2008 NBA draft the Miami Heat select Michael Beasley" Those words could not have come out any better from David Stern’s mouth.  After so much speculation and office talks throughout South Florida we now know that the best player in all of College basketball will be wearing the Heat's black, red and white for this upcoming and many more seasons.

Too much was speculated when it came down to this pick and I feel as if the Heat made the right decision.  Not too often do you get a chance at picking up a player of such caliber and when you do you don't pass it up.  So Heat fans thank Pat Riley and company for not making the same mistake our other team in Opa Locka did last year by drafting Ted Ginn Jr. and his family instead of the herald QB Brady Quinn.  Although it's too early to judge the careers of both players at this point, I think the Dolphins made a huge mistake that has set us back another 3 years.  But enough with the Dolphins and the mess that Bill "The Tuna" Parcells is trying to fix, this article is about the Miami Heat and how with one draft have created a huge buzz around town.

Having D-Wade, Sean Marion, Udonis Haslem, Alonzo Morning and our first round pick Michael Beasly on the court this year will be exciting.  A mix of young talent with some veteran leadership should have this team contending for a playoff spot this year and pushing for an NBA title sooner than we all thought possible.  Let's not forget we are also entering a new season with a new unproven coach that will be wearing a chip on his shoulder trying to show the NBA that he indeed belongs coaching with the big boys.  With all of this at stake I hope the boys from the "Triple A" bring back the electricity to the arena that got us our first ever NBA title.

Were all excited and can't wait to see the team in action this season as they push to make the playoffs and become one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference once again.  But if the wait for the season to start is too much for you I recommend attending Zo's Summer Groove's basketball game where a bunch of NBA players and celebritties will be taking on each other to be crown this year’s Zo's Summer Groove champion.  Hurry and call Premium Seats USA and pick up your tickets to the Miami Heat season opener and also Zo’s Summer Groove tickets!
