The Lakers are a very exciting team to watch. Led by MVP Kobe Bryant, this team boasts one of the most impressive rosters in the league. In a huge mid-season trade involving Kwame Brown and some draft picks, the Lakers picked up the big Spaniard Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies. Not enough for you? The Lakers have one of the best third options in the NBA in Lamar Odom. In addition the Lakers have veteran Derek Fisher back in L.A. and young guns Sasha Vujacic and Luke Walton coming off the bench.

The Lakers were led All-Star Kobe Bryant, who averaged 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. Pau Gasol averaged nearly 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Lamar Odom averaged a double-double of 14 points and almost 11 boards a night. Sasha Vujacic, nicknamed “the machine”, shot an amazing 45% from behind the arc. The Lakers did have one mishap this season, when Andrew Bynum went down with an injury, never to return during the regular season. Until that point, he was playing best basketball of his short career.

The Lakers are coached by 9-time World Champion Phil Jackson. The “Zen Master” and his squad, ended the season with a 57-25 record, boasting the number one record in the Pacific Division as well as the number one seed in an ultra competitive Western Conference.  The Lakers are looking strong to bring back the glory days of Kareem and Magic and to show the world that they are a contender.
