A small American rock band formed in the early 70s out on the West Coast and began their career as the opening act for Linda Ronstadt. The Eagles released their first self-titled album in 1972 with great reviews. After several successful singles, the sophomore album titled Desperado came out, which put singles on the Billboard charts. Their country rock sound became an identity but they eventually became more mainstreamed and rock, and are now one of the best rock and roll bands today. Their third album, On the Border, showed this new versatility and the album produced the Eagles first number one single with Best of My Love. One of These Nights became their fourth CD hosting the Grammy Award winning song, Lyin’ Eyes, and the number one One of These Nights. The four albums were all successful and happened between 1971 and 1975, so it was only fitting that Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) was released soon after, becoming the best-selling album in U.S. history. While most bands come out with a greatest hits album and then die out, the Eagles came back strong with Hotel California in 1976. It is the Eagles best-selling studio album to date. The Long Run came out just before the group took a fourteen-year break before reuniting in 1994. During the break Henley made himself a successful solo career with hits like All She Wants to Do Is Dance and The End of the Innocence. Frey’s The Heat Is On became a hit single across the country during the hiatus as well. Since then, the Eagles have released a few albums including the most recent one, which coincides with the tour.
