One of the hottest Latin singers in the entertainment world is Luis Miguel who has been fierce on the music scene since the 1980s. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Mexico and on Mexican music, Luis Miguel has become one of the most notable and respected Latin American singers. Taking home four Latin Grammy Awards and five Grammy Awards over his tenure, Luis Miguel excels at several varieties of music including romantic ballads, mariachi, bolero, and pop music.

Beginning his music career at just 11 years old, Luis Miguel worked hard to expose his music to the Latin community and ultimately to the world. Early discography included his debut album Soy Como Quiero Ser and Busca Una Mujer. This second album helped catapult him from a child star to an adult sensation showing his maturity through his music. His nickname by the media and his fans is El Sol de Mexico (The Sun of Mexico) and he embraces his Mexican roots in all of his music. His album Romance highlighting romantic boleros from the 40s and 50s became one his most successful pieces up to date selling more than 15 million worldwide. Although, it was his fifth studio album, Aries, that earned him the Best Latin Pop Album and his first Grammy Award. He would go on to continue to release brilliant albums earning him worldwide recognition and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is very rare for a foreign singer. He rounded out the 20th century earning two more Latin Grammy Awards.

His musical efforts did not slow down during the 2000s and in 2005, Luis Miguel debuted his first greatest hits album entitled Grandes Exitos. His most recent project was Complices released in May 2008 with the tour beginning in September of the same year. Of course fairing well amongst audiences across the United States and throughout his home country, the album has been one of his best and has left fans wanting more. It never seems like Luis Miguel has reached his musical limit and another epic album can be expected in coming years.
