John Mayor is a talented guitarist and songwriter who attended Berklee College of Music. After his graduation he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he released his first two studio albums, Room for Squares and Heavier Things. Both of which did incredibly well, attaining multi-platinum status.
Mayer started off his musical career with acoustic rock, than gradually began to transition towards a bluesy-genre around 2005. He collaborated with top artists, such as B.B King, Buddy Guy, and Eric Clapton. This collaboration can be heard on John Mayer’s album, Continuum, which was released in 2006. This album won him a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2007.
Not only did John Mayer collaborate with legendary blues artists, he also toured with a number of renowned musicians, such as Dave Matthews, Counting Crows, and Paramore. On top of his unique voice, Mayer extended his career to stand-up comedy, landing him a spot on the Dave Chappelle show.
Mayer made a live DVD in 2005 documenting his success and has continued to tour nationwide. Mayer released his forth studio album in November 2009 called Battle Studies. Don’t miss out John Mayer when he comes to a city near you!
