They were formed at the University of South Carolina and together Hootie & the Blowfish brought sounds of blues, pop, and rock to the mainstream. They are a loveable band that had many top hits with their platinum album Cracked Rear View. Their first single was "Hold my Hand"; there were three others that also topped the charts. However, the popularity did not follow with the rest of their albums. The band still continued to release albums; like a tribute record to R.E.M, the Smiths, and Tom Waits. Currently Hootie & the Blowfish are touring the states in the process of releasing a new album. |
