Starting out in Los Angeles with Ice- T’s Rhyme Syndicate Cartel, Everlast began his career in the mostly black community of hip-hop. The album didn’t do that well and Everlast met up with some other guys and formed House of Pain, a completely Irish rap group. House of Pain did really well on the pop charts; they even earned the respect of a lot of other rappers. However, Everlast became very ill with a heart condition and could not continue on. In 1998, he reinvented himself and came out as a solo acoustic act. On top of his record going platinum, he also performed on Santana’s Supernatural album. His single went to the Top Forty. He has been made fun of by rap acts such as Eminem in the past, but Everlast is trying to prove to us that he is going to make his music last. |
