Bon Jovi Info:

Rock bands are a dime a dozen but there is one classic group that has stood the test of time. Bon Jovi has been a top rock group since they formed back in 1983 in New Jersey. In almost any bar, club, or party you will hear their most well-known song Livin’ on a Prayer and dozens of other hit songs. The band has delivered eleven studio albums to the public, one live album and two compilation albums. They have sold more than 120 million albums proving their longevity in the music scene. And worldwide domination is what they have accomplished in their 26-year reign including traveling and performing in more than 50 countries and for 34 million fans. Top songs have included You Give Love a Bad Name, Have a Nice Day, Bed of Roses, It’s my Life, Wanted Dead or Alive and Keep the Faith. All their songs are edgy, catchy, and bleed passion. It’s hard not to love Bon Jovi.

Back in 1983, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan, Alec John Such and Tico Torres came together to form Bon Jovi. Their debut self-titled album came out in January 1984 and things started looking up for the young rock and roll hopefuls. They opened for ZZ Top, Scorpians, and Kiss almost immediately. Their sophomore album suffered the sophomore slump as many often do as 7800° Fahrenheit didn’t fare as well as they had hoped, however they were able to take and promote their album back on the road again, this time touring with Ratt. They returned back home rearing to get to work on their third album and when Slippery When Wet hit the charts, Bon Jovi had arrived. It has been labeled their breakthrough album and with that, several classic rock songs came off the record including their first single You Give Love a Bad Name which shot up to number one on the charts. What would become their theme songs Livin’ on a Prayer was the next to be released followed by Wanted Dead or Alive. The album earned several music industry awards and catapulted them to superstardom. They embarked on their first headlining tour and dazzled the world with their music. Their follow up album, New Jersey, was a smash as well selling more than seven million copies in the U.S. alone. They embarked on a 16 month tour that was extremely successful but also exhausting for the band, which led to them separating in 1990.

Jon Bon Jovi released his own album in the aftermath of the disbandment and it was well received by fans and critics. His title track Blaze of Glory earned him several awards including a Grammy nomination. Sambora also released a solo album titled Stranger In This Town. But in 1992, Bon Jovi had worked out their issues and agreed to go back into studio. Keeping the Faith was the next album and it was widely accepted with more than nine million copies sold proving that they still had what it takes even in the new 90s decade. A greatest hits album followed in 1994 including the new single Always which was a top 10 hit for six months in the US. This song earned the Best Selling Rock Band award at the World Music Awards. Soon after, Alec John Such left the band and was replaced by Hugh McDonald.

The next album These Days spawned another worldwide tour masterpiece, which was again followed by a two-year hiatus. Sambora released Undiscovered Soul during this time. Once the group rejoined in 1999, Crush was released as their seventh album. Their first single It’s My Life grabbed a younger target audience and proved that the band can stand the test of time. One Wild Night: Live 1985-2001 was released as the bands only live album and then another greatest hits album titled Tokyo Road was released in 2001. The next album in line was Bounce followed by This Left Feels Right and Have a Nice Day. On the latter, the duet Who Says You Can’t Go Home was performed vocally by Jon and country artist Jennifer Nettles and earned them a Grammy award. Since them Lost Highway and The Circle have been released. A tour as big as the Jersey tour in the late 80s is underway and it is sure to be unbelievable as these seasoned vets know how it is to show a great rock and roll concert event.
