Starting with friendship and quirkiness, Toronto’s own Barenaked Ladies was formed in 1988. They were quickly acknowledged as a novelty act and pushed aside by the pop Canadian scene. They were instantly noticed by the college indie scene, which attributed to their success with the album Yellow Tape. They have had trials and tribulation in their 15 years together, but they have managed to prove to the music world that they can be serious songwriters and funny at the same time. |
