The Watkins Glen International speedway is located in Watkins Glen, New York, at the tip of Seneca Lake. It is one of the last races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series taking place on its traditional week-end, the first week-end in August.Its name has changed several times over the years, having had many different sponsors. It is currently sponsored by Crowley Foods.
In addition to having several names, the raceway has also suffered from crashes involving deaths and even a fire ruining a recently updated part of the venue. It has been on and off of the NASCAR circuit, but new construction and the “King of the Road”, Tony Stewart, are sure to bring fans back into the Glen. Stewart is going for his sixth win on this track. Will he do it again?
